The VIth Vohandu 100 km marathon
364 crews registered for this marathon, but 309 started it. The representatives of Lithuania participated in the boat classes of K-2 (96 crews in total) and K-1 (58 participants in total). One girl represented Lithuania. She competed in the female group of one-seat canoes. This year a public enterprise “Vandens turistai” succeeded in organizing a great team with the aim to participate in a high-level sport competition K-2 (boat class) for the first time. A public enterprise “Vandens turistai” got a special canoe for this competition. Young and persistent sportsmen Audrius Čeponis ir Vytenis Grigas who have a great experience of rowing took its wheel.
All the expectations were exceeded. Audrius and Vytenis incredibly won the 3rd place in the boat class K-2. Their result – 8 hrs. 18 min. 20 sec.
