Through the City of Kaunas on the River of Nemunas

A 4-hours-long tourist trip by canoes and ferries through the City of Kaunas on the River of Nemunas.

A trip will start in Petrašiūnai district near the bridge which is beside Kaunas Hydroelectric Power Plant. You will feel a powerful stream of the River of Nemunas and see the beautiful views of the old districts of Kaunas – Panemunė, Žemieji Šančiai, Senamiestis (The old town). Our finish will be under the historic bridge of Aleksotas. This bridge connects two districts of Kaunas: Aleksotas and Senamiestis (The old town). It is built over the River of Nemunas near the confluence with the River of Neris. There is a raiser near the bridge on the side of Aleksotas and Vytautas Church on the side of Senamiestis (The old town).

Nemunas is the longest river of Lithuania. The River of Nemunas is dammed beside Kaunas. Kaunas Hydroelectric Power Plant is built in the dam. A pond formed above it is the biggest artificial water pond called Kauno Marios. It is a 63,5 sq. km water storage which was formed by damming the River of Nemunas. It stows inside up to 462 million cubic metres of water.
